Update: I heard back from the company and they promptly sent a new battery and offered a small gift for my troubles. I really appreciate it. I will update how well the new battery works, but I don’t anticipate any problems. I’m giving it 3 stars for now but will change that once we use it for a while.

I’ve been trying for weeks to have someone take my call and address the situation. The battery is defective, it doesn’t keep a charge. I understand stuff happens, and that’s ok, but I want a replacement. I’m not asking for the money back I just want to exchange it. I wait on hold for 1/2 hour to an hour, they promise to call back and never do. I’ve emailed them and even offered to drive to their warehouse to do the exchange. Nothing. I’d love to be able to write a review on how well the battery works, but obviously I cannot. I will update if they ever get back to me.

I just got & installed 6 of these beauties today. So far so good! As promised they’re small & light @ 26 lb – light enough for residential delivery.
They’ve got a switchable shelf/off-on setting, which is quite handy when cabling them into a parallel-cabled bank – leave or switch them into “shelf” (off) mode & eliminate the potential of sparks flying….
They have designed in a Phillips screw approach to attaching flat-ring-end cables, eliminating the awkward moves necessary w the old wrench style of cabling.
Interesting is the fact that in testing voltage, each battery registers its voltage separately, so it’s not necessary to remove cables to find each battery’s true voltage – smart battery indeed.
Two of the 6 were in the “on/active” mode when received so their voltage differed from the other four. In test charging them I noted that the two in active mode began increasing voltage – moving toward the four that arrived in “shelf/inactive” mode. I’m guessing their moving toward the promised balance between batteries.
The rest is to be seen & I trust I won’t outlive them. Or, you get what you pay for. There’s no reason to settle for a lead acid battery if you can thing “Big Picture”.

Warranty and customer support are part of the purchase. Renogy products are good, but just try to get a hold of Renogy’s customer service and technical support! Numerous emails with little or no response: “We’ll get back to you.” An hour on hold, and then disconnected after a few minutes on hold after finally being transferred to technical support. I bought three (3) of the Renogy LiFePo4 12V 100Ah Smart Batteries, and I’m still within the return window. I’m returning them all, and I’ll avoid Renogy products in the future. Terrible customer service.

27 JULY 2020 UPDATE: Renogy finally responded after several negative comments on Amazon. I told them I already made the repair, but they sent me parts anyway, which is why I raised my 1-star review to a 2-star. I did return the above mentioned batteries. Renogy has good products, but warranty is part of the product, and their support is extremely poor.
