  1. Jason

The media could not be loaded.

After significant research, the Bluetti AC200P seemed to check so many boxes for me. Unfortunately, I’m now attempting to get a replacement for the 2nd faulty device in a row.

The first AC200P had an issue with the LCD touchscreen. It wouldn’t register input making the device essentially worthless. After power cycling the unit multiple times, the touchscreen would eventually become responsive again.

After contacting Bluetti and attempting some troubleshooting steps, Bluetti support decided that my AC200P was faulty and sent me a prepaid shipping label to return it and exchange it for another one. Great CS so far!

The day that I received the replacement AC200P, I was testing it by running a 12V DC portable cooler (which pulls about 35w). Less than 10 minutes of running it and the AC200P faulted and began beeping. The specific fault was “004 DC Output Short Circuit” and from that point on, DC would no longer turn on. Whenever I attempt to turn DC on, it faults immediately. Multiple restarts, nada.

I reached back out to Bluetti support and supplied them with the same video I’ve uploaded here. Their response was that I “didn’t turn DC on” and that I should ensure that I set PV mode/car mode depending on whether I am charging via solar panels vs wall charger and that would get rid of the “001 PV/Car over voltage” error. Wtf!? Yeah, I’m not sure if they mixed me up with a different customer or what but that isn’t even the error I’m getting. I replied stating as much and I’ve yet to hear back from them after a couple of emails but I will update this if/when I do.

Sadly, I regret my purchase at this point. It’s past the return window and since I already got a (faulty) replacment directly from Bluetti, I have no recourse through Amazon.

I was seriously considering purchasing two Bluetti EP500’s but after this experience I think I will look elsewhere.

    *UPDATE 07/01/2021
After almost a week and several emails back and forth with Bluetti, they finally sent a return label for the second device. I’ll update this again after testing AC200P #3.

Side note since I didn’t mention it before, the 200W Bluetti solar panels included in this bundle are excellent. I purchased 1 additional one as well so I could max out the solar input on the AC200P. High quality SunPower solar cells, heavy gauge cables and MC4 connectors.

    *UPDATE 07/15/2021
    Rating upgraded to 3 stars

I received AC200P #3 a couple of days ago and have been putting it through its paces. So far, I’m happy to report that I’ve had zero issues with this new one. Despite the annoyance of having to send the first two units back, all in all Bluetti made things right. For that, I’m upgrading my rating to 3 stars.

For those considering purchasing an AC200P now, I highly recommend waiting at this point. Bluetti just announced the upcoming release of the AC200 MAX scheduled for August 2021 and the AC300 in September 2021. The price point for the MAX will be the same as what the AC200P is going for now and at least on paper it is a superior product. The price of the AC200P will likely drop upon it’s release as well. Bluetti also announced two different battery expansion options for the AC200 MAX and the AC300. The B240 (2048Wh) and the B300 (3072Wh). The AC200 MAX will support up to 2xB240’s or 2xB300’s for a max total of 8192Wh. If that isn’t enough, the AC300 can support 4xB300’s for 12288Wh.

There is also some good news for AC200 and AC200P owners, the expansion batteries will be backwards compatible (although you can only use one at a time) so we can potentially boost our storage capacity to 5120Wh with a B300, equaling their EP500 line but with more modularity.

    I hope this helps!

  2. SAK-ERK

After the cold spell and no electricity for a many days in Texas, bought the Bluetti 2000wh (AC200P), with five (SP120) 120watts panels, based on reviews by Hobotech and Will Prowse on YouTube.

Takes me ten minutes to deploy all five panel on the deck. On a clear day in Central Oregon, charged the batteries from 32% to 100% in about 3-1/2 hrs, between 12pm and about 3:30 or 4.

    Test so far making breakfast:
    Kettle boil wataer, toaster, induction cooker for eggs;
day one used up 15% of 2Kwh, day two 10%, did it faster 😁. Sofar I figure that I can charge the battery every 5 days.
No, you can’t use the Kettle, Toaster, and Induction cooker at the same time. It’s done serially! One at a time!

I learn that the Inverter (DC to 120vAC) uses up 2% per hour of the 2000wh battery just sitting there ready for use.
Lesson: turn the Inverter On for use then turn it Off. Think about this way; your phone uses battery just sitting there not being used. When it is Off, it is still using battery, talking to the towers.

Have a refrigerator in the garage, Amana (TX21A3L, 115VAC – 7.74amps) and using a kw-meter for 12 hrs real time, it run for 7:16 hrs and used up 1324 wh.
Have not run the refrigerator with the Bluetti yet. So. From the numbers I can derive that the battery needs to be recharged every day. And yes, you can use the Bluetti while charging the battery with the solar panels.

  3. Tedlyon

I received the BLUETTI AC200P a few days ago, 4/20/2021 with 3 BLUETTI SP200 200w solar panels. So far so good. The highest I seen on charge wattage is 480w with the 3 panels. Being in south Louisiana, I will need to try to get a lower angle than the 45 degrees that the kickstand gives you.
Easily ran my TV, satellite receiver, CPAP and charged my iPhone Apple Watch and e-cigarettes overnight. Ran down to about 30%. Pointing my panels southeast to catch the morning sun, battery was back to 100% by 10:30 am.
The reason I ordered this, is mainly backup power. Last year we were hit by 2 hurricanes in a month. I was without power for around 18 days. (Used around 300 gallons of gasoline). This year we had rolling blackouts with the winter weather. This thing will come in handy. During a hurricane there is no way to run a generator with 140mph winds. Can’t put it on the back patio it would blow away, plus the driving ran. Can’t run it in the garage because of carbon monoxide. Besides my garage door blew in anyway. With this bluetti I will be able to run my tv and satellite receiver to be able to get weather updates. ( at least until your satellite dish blows away which mine did). So, have a backup antenna to get local news. Also be able to run my refrigerator until the the storm passes and able to pull out the generator. I am going to use it to supplement my generator. Where hopefully I won’t have to run it 24 hours a day. If you ever have to tend 8500watt Portable generator 24/7 it’s a lot of work. Fueling it up, changing oil every few days. (Well, if you want it to last any amount of time, many generator were burned up because no maintenance.
It will be handy during short blackouts. Wouldn’t have to pull out the generator.
I am also a amateur radio operator. I ordered the 12v/25amp plug to run my radios. I will try to remember to give a update when I get this going.

    Update: 5/4/2021
Well, this is very disappointing. Got home today from work and was going to charge my phone and portable charger and the unit would not turn on. Contacted the seller through Amazon. Haven’t decided if I will just ask for a refund or a exchange. That’s a lot of money spent for something that stops working in 2 weeks. Will update this review when I hear from the seller. Like I said very disappointed

    Update 5/11/2021
After Troubleshooting with the help of Maxoak service department it was determined I needed a replacement. I sent it back on 5/7/2012. Maxoak Customer service was more than helpful. No problem to exchange. They sent me a FedEx return mail label making it painless to return. As of now, I am waiting on my replacement AC200P. I will put it through it paces when I receive it and give a update.
